Snowboarding Across Canada

Canada is renowned for its snowboarding, and hundreds of thousands of people head there each year to have a go in the ski fields. The best thing about Canada is that you can have a holiday entirely dedicated to snowboarding for much cheaper than the majority of other places that you would visit. On top of this, Canada has some of the best snowboarding in the world, which explains why the 2010 Winter Olympics was held in Vancouver! There are a huge range of mountains that you can choose to try your skills on, ranging for the person who has never even seen snow right through to a seasoned athlete who is looking for half pipes, grind rails and big jumps.

Snowboarding in Vancouver has a lot to offer, with over 3 mountains within an hour's drive of the city. This is also home to one of the largest gondolas in the world, which goes over sections over 400 meters tall. If you are lucky, you might get put into one of the two glass floored cabins, which is a real treat. There is plenty to see in these areas, and Calgary has some amazing snowboarding too. Sure, you could go to Japan, New Zealand or almost any part of Europe, but at the end of the day Canada is known for the amazing scenery, great snowboarding and in general good culture.

Canada always gets a good amount of snow each year, meaning you can pre book your flights, accommodation and ski passes in advance, which helps to save a few dollars. If you have never been to Canada before, and you want to try some Snowboarding I can't recommend it more!

I've written a bit about Snowboard Vancouver and also Snowboard Calgary if you want to read more!

  3. I'd love the opportunity to visit Canada and go snowboarding, My understanding is that the Canadian Rockies have some of the best snow around. I hope to visit there when I start my road trip this winter.
